Delivery & Returns — What Actually Happens When You Order | MZ Reformer

You are buying a 68–185 kg piece of equipment, not a phone case. Delivery involves a freight carrier, a pallet or heavy carton, and a delivery window measured in business days, not hours. This page explains exactly how it works — including the parts that are inconvenient.

What Delivery Day Looks Like

For reformers and other items over 80 kg:

  1. You will receive a call or SMS from the carrier 24–48 hours before delivery to book a time window (typically 4 hours, e.g., 8am–12pm or 12pm–4pm). If you miss the call, call the number back — they will not attempt delivery without a confirmed window.
  2. A tail-lift truck arrives. The reformer is on a pallet or in a heavy carton (dimensions approximately 200 × 70 × 40 cm, weight 68–185 kg depending on model). The driver will lower it to ground level using the tail-lift.
  3. Kerbside delivery. The driver delivers to your doorstep or garage if the path is flat and accessible. They are not required to carry the item upstairs, through the house, or into a specific room. If you need the reformer moved to a specific room, arrange help in advance — the box is heavy and requires two people to lift safely.
  4. Inspect before signing. You have the right to inspect the packaging before signing the delivery receipt. If the box shows visible damage (punctures, crushed corners, water stains), take a photo and note it on the delivery receipt before signing. Do not refuse delivery for cosmetic box damage — open it first. Most box damage is superficial.

What Can Go Wrong (And How We Handle It)

Freight Damage

Heavy items occasionally get knocked around in transit. Approximate damage rate across all freight carriers in Australia for items over 60 kg is 2–4%. If your reformer arrives with damage:

  1. Take clear photos of the damage (box exterior and the affected part).
  2. Email support@zenithmusclefitness.com within 48 hours of delivery with the photos and your order number.
  3. We assess the damage. For cosmetic damage to a single component (e.g., scratched rail, dented footbar), we ship a replacement part from our Darra QLD warehouse. For structural damage (frame, carriage), we arrange a full replacement unit and organise return of the damaged one at our cost.
  4. We file a freight claim with the carrier. You do not need to deal with the carrier — that is our responsibility.

Delivery Delay

If your delivery exceeds the worst-case timeline for your zone (see table above), email us. We will trace the consignment with the carrier and give you a real update — not a template response. In most cases, the delay is a regional carrier scheduling backlog, not a lost item.

Missing Accessories

If an accessory listed on the packing slip is missing from the box, email us with a photo of the packing slip and the box contents. We express-post the missing item within 1 business day.

Returns

You can return an MZ reformer within 14 days of delivery if:

  • The reformer is in its original condition (fully functional, no damage beyond normal unpacking marks)
  • You have the original packaging (or equivalent protective packaging — the reformer must survive the return trip)
  • You contact us first at support@zenithmusclefitness.com to initiate the return

Return shipping cost: You cover the return freight. For a reformer, this is typically $120–$350 AUD depending on your location and the carrier. We can arrange the pickup using our freight account (at our negotiated rate, which is lower than retail) and deduct the cost from your refund. Alternatively, you can organise your own courier.

Refund timeline: Once the reformer is received and inspected at our Darra QLD warehouse (1–2 business days after delivery), we process the refund to your original payment method. The refund amount is the purchase price minus the return shipping cost. Refunds typically appear in your account within 3–5 business days depending on your bank.

What we do not refund:

  • Assembled reformers that have been used (hygiene and wear). If you have assembled it and used it for a workout, it is not returnable.
  • Custom or special-order items (tagged "special order" on the product page)
  • Items returned without prior authorisation

Assembly

MZ reformers ship partially disassembled for safe transport. The carriage, footbar, and shoulder rests are removed and packed separately. Assembly involves:

  • Bolting the legs to the frame (4 bolts per leg — spanner included)
  • Placing the carriage on the rails (lift on — no tools required)
  • Attaching the footbar (2 bolts)
  • Connecting the ropes through the pulleys and attaching the springs

Estimated assembly time: 30–45 minutes with one person, 20 minutes with two. A printed manual with photos is included in the box. If you are not confident assembling it yourself, a local handyman or fitness equipment assembler can do it in under an hour.
