Choosing the Right Reformer
Which reformer is right for me?
Three machines, three distinct buyers:
- PM5429 Foldable ($1,529) — If space is your primary constraint. Folds to approximately 39 cm depth in under 60 seconds. Ideal for apartments, shared spaces, and rooms that serve multiple purposes. All the same exercises as a fixed machine.
- PM5396 Premium ($1,781) — If you're a regular studio practitioner and want to replicate that feel at home. The piano-wire spring system is the same standard used in commercial studio machines — noticeably smoother than colour-coded springs. Comes with platform extender and long box.
- PM5445 Full-Track ($2,249) — If you teach, train at an advanced level, or run a boutique studio. The extended carriage rail enables long-spine sequences and jump board work. Six springs across three resistance weights give granular control. PU leather upholstery built for daily multi-client use.

What's the difference between the spring systems across the three models?
PM5429 uses a standard 5-spring colour-coded system (common across most home reformers). Each spring is colour-coded to indicate resistance level.
PM5396 uses a piano-wire spring system — the same construction used in commercial Stott, Balanced Body, and Align reformers. Piano-wire springs produce a more consistent, smoother resistance throughout the range of motion, and hold their calibration longer than standard springs.
PM5445 has a 6-spring system with 2 Red (heavy), 2 Yellow (medium), and 2 Blue (light) springs, giving you 12 distinct resistance combinations. This is the configuration used in most boutique studios.
Can I do all Pilates exercises on the PM5429 foldable model?
Yes. The PM5429's carriage dimensions match commercial studio specifications, so all standard reformer exercises are available. The folding mechanism doesn't affect any exercise capability — it only changes how the machine is stored.
The one difference is that the PM5429 doesn't include a platform extender or long box (these are included with the PM5396). These accessories can be purchased separately if needed.
I've only ever used studio reformers. Will a home reformer feel different?
The PM5396 and PM5445 are the closest you'll get to a studio feel at home. Both use commercial-grade aluminium frames with the same carriage dimensions and resistance systems as boutique studio machines.
The PM5396 specifically uses a piano-wire spring system — the mechanism that gives studio machines their characteristic smooth, controlled resistance. Most people who've only ever used studio machines report that the PM5396 feels immediately familiar.
Are these suitable for Pilates beginners?
Yes. All three models have adjustable resistance (via spring selection) and multiple footbar positions, making them appropriate for complete beginners through advanced practitioners.
That said, if you've never done reformer Pilates, we strongly recommend attending a few studio introductory sessions before purchasing — not because the machine is difficult to use, but because the investment makes more sense once you understand the practice. Most studios offer beginner reformer intensives for $100–$200.
Delivery & Assembly
How much does delivery cost?
Brisbane metro: Free on orders over $500 (all reformers qualify).
All other Australian addresses: $99 flat rate, calculated at checkout. This covers delivery to your door — including regional Queensland, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and all other states and territories.
We don't ship internationally.
How long does delivery take?
Brisbane metro: typically 2–5 business days. Interstate: 5–10 business days depending on your location. Remote or regional addresses may take longer.
You'll receive a tracking number once your order is dispatched.
What does delivery involve? Do I need to be home?
Reformers are large items (the PM5429 ships at approximately 45 kg). Delivery is to your door — the courier will leave the item at your address. If you won't be home, leave authority to leave in your order notes.
We recommend having two people available to move the box from the delivery point to your intended room.
Do I need to assemble the reformer myself?
Minimal assembly is required. Reformers arrive largely pre-assembled — main tasks are attaching the shoulder rests, adjusting the footbar position, and threading the rope. Most customers complete setup in 20–30 minutes using the included guide.
If you'd prefer a walkthrough, call us during business hours and we'll talk you through it.
What if the reformer is damaged in transit?
Inspect the packaging before signing for delivery. If there is visible external damage to the box, note it on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.
If you discover damage after unpacking, photograph it and contact us within 48 hours at support@zenithmusclefitness.com. We'll arrange a replacement of the affected component or a full replacement unit depending on the extent of damage. We cover all freight costs for transit damage claims.
Returns & Warranty
What is the return policy?
30-day in-home trial. If you're not satisfied with your reformer within 30 days of delivery, contact us for a return. The item must be in its original condition and packaging. Return freight is at the customer's cost for change-of-mind returns.
Returns for transit damage or manufacturing defects are covered entirely by us — we pay the freight.
What does the 12-month warranty cover?
The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the frame, carriage, springs, footbar, and all mechanical components. It does not cover normal wear (upholstery, rope, pulleys after extended use) or damage from misuse.
To make a warranty claim, email us with photos describing the issue. We'll assess and either send a replacement component or arrange collection and replacement of the unit.
We keep a stock of replacement springs, rope sets, and footbar components specifically to resolve warranty issues quickly.
Why is your warranty 12 months when some competitors offer 10 years?
Honest answer: 10-year structural warranties on aluminium-frame reformers typically cover only the frame itself — not springs, pulleys, upholstery, rope, or other components that experience wear. Our 12-month warranty covers all components.
Aerospace-grade aluminium alloy frames are exceptionally durable. Frame failure on these machines is rare — the components that wear are springs and rope, which we can replace quickly and inexpensively. We'd rather cover everything for 12 months than cover just the frame for 10 years.
About Zenith Muscle Fitness
Why are your prices lower than other Australian retailers?
Direct model. We source aluminium-frame reformers and sell them directly to customers, without a distributor layer or retail intermediary. Comparable machines through standard distribution channels in Australia typically retail at $2,799–$5,000+.
The machines are the same commercial specification — aerospace-grade aluminium frames, colour-coded or piano-wire spring systems, commercial carriage dimensions. The price difference reflects the distribution model, not the product.

Are you an Australian business?
Yes. Zenith Muscle Fitness operates from Darra, Brisbane QLD 4076. ABN: 70 646 307 191. We are a registered Australian business subject to Australian Consumer Law, including mandatory consumer guarantees on all products.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. All transactions are processed through Shopify Payments with SSL encryption.
Can I see the reformer before buying?
We don't operate a showroom. If you'd like to talk through the machines in detail before committing, book a free 15-minute phone or video consultation — we'll answer every question you have about fit, specification, and which model suits your practice.
Do you offer a price match guarantee?
If you find an identical aluminium-frame reformer with equivalent specification (same frame material, same spring system type, same carriage dimensions) at a lower price from another Australian retailer, contact us and we'll review it. We can't match pricing on steel-frame or lower-spec machines, but we won't be beaten on like-for-like aluminium specification.
Do you offer bulk or studio pricing?
Yes. If you're purchasing two or more reformers for a studio or PT practice, contact us at support@zenithmusclefitness.com with your requirements. We'll put together a quote with volume pricing and coordinated delivery.
